Coach Kelterborn will enter his fifth season as the head girls basketball coach at Walton. Matt was the JV head girls basketball coach at Walton from 2013-2017. Coach Kelterborn was previously an assistant coach in the Walton baseball program, including being on staff for the 2016 State Championship team. 

Before joining Walton, he coached six seasons of basketball and baseball at E.T. Booth Middle School. Coach Kelterborn played basketball and baseball for Etowah High School. Matt graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education. Coach Kelterborn is married to Elizabeth Kelterborn.

Dave Lucey is coaching this year’s Junior Varsity team and assisting with the Varsity for the fourth year. Growing up in Rockville Centre, NY, he was an All-State point guard at South Side High School and was a member of its first athletic Hall of Fame class. He attended the University of Georgia and was a four-year basketball letterman. 

Coach Lucey has coached both boys’ and girls’ basketball teams at the collegiate level (Georgia and Georgia State) and the high school level (Monroe Academy and Pebblebrook). His girls’ teams at Monroe Academy won three state titles and finished runners-up twice in eight seasons. Coach Lucey, who has a Business Administration degree and a Master’s in Education from UGA, teaches Business Education at Dodgen Middle School.  He and his wife Jeanne have two children, Jessica and David.
